Hello,

Am attempting to install 2019 Auto cad (Student version) from Autodesk in my Mac computer and upon complete download, I get a prompt that its not compatible with Mac OS. Please advise.

Thank you.

James.

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi James,

Are you sure you downloaded correct installer - for macOS, and not for Windows.
The extension of the installer for macOS should be .DMG and the name should look like:
Autodesk_AutoCAD_2019_Mac_OSX_R1.dmg

Hi Maxim,

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. I clicked on the link below:

Note: AutoCAD for Mac and Mac OS x 10.13 (High Sierra) compatibility is also available. Get AutoCAD for Mac

So when I attempted to install, it didn't work.

Can you attach screenshot with "prompt" you mentioned in your first post?
What macOS version do you have on your Mac?

Can you also provide the name of the installer you downloaded?

As I suspected earlier, you downloaded installer for Windows, not for Mac. Try to download installer again and check OS before clicking on Download button.

Okay. Thanks Maxim. I didn't realize I had to click on the OS before the actual download. Will give it a shot and revert shortly. Thanks a million again for helping.

Hey Maxim,

Am excited to let you know that I was able to install AutoCAD under your directions. Thanks a million again for your help. You're the MAN!!!! :). I noticed 2019 version does not have Mac OS option for installation but only the 2020 auto cad version.

Now, am trying to install 2020 Civil 3D using the same process as well but I don't see the Mac OS option under that little drop box just prior to hitting download button. Is that only for windows? I must be doing it wrong again. Lol. When you get chance, please advise. Thank you.

you need to read system requirements before installing anything to be sure its compatible with a MAC OS

civil 3d is not
