The layouts in question have have annotative scale and scale the same at 1/8." In layer manager, while in MS in the layout, I can select and deselect VP Freeze and see that the elements in those layers toggle off and come back.

Please advise.

General question: Are there reports that some AutoCAD things simply do not work on a Mac? I am on IOS Mac Catalina, 10.15.7. Example, perhaps: In the MText dialog, I change the font size, hit return, catch up with the cursor in the editor, type my text, go back up to the "Text Editor" strip and select save, go back down and click outside the text editor. Next time, the font size has not changed but is back to the original size. I keep text size at "0" in the Text Style dialog.

Your thoughts will be much appreciated.

The default text height for text styles with zero height is controlled by TEXTSIZE system variable.

You can change it from the Command prompt or with height option when you start MTEXT (DTEXT) command.

When you change text height on MTEXT Visor, you change it only for current text object (selection inside text object), it doesn't affect TEXTSIZE Sys Var.

This is true for both PC and Mac versions of AutoCAD.
