MacBook (Late 2008)
OS X Yosemite 10.10
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card
2GB RAM
While all AutoCAD for Mac years require 3GB RAM and mentioned "insuffucient memory" during the installs, I was last able to use AutoCAD 2013 for Mac fine, before upgrading to AutoCAD 2014 and 2015 for Mac.
With the 2014 and 2015 versions, upon clicking the AutoCAD icon to start fresh or a preexisting 2D .dwg file, the rectangular box would say "loading" but the program would never open even after multiple uninstalls and reinstalls.
Tried installing 2013 again, but was given error message of compatibility only with 10.6 or later. AutoCAD LT also does not open. AutoCAD 360 does not have the necessary "lined grid/blueprint background." DraftSight and LibreCAD only had dotted grid backgrounds. I am a student and only need to edit 2D .dwg files.
Thank you.
*Edit: Even if I could afford to upgrade the RAM, which I can't, Apple says, "No memory currently available for that model."
