To explore the new features and enhancements in detail, along with more updates included in AutoCAD 2025 and AutoCAD LT 2025 (remains LISP free sadly), take a look at the following pages in the Online Help section for both programs:

Hello!

I'm new to AutoCAD and wondering if there's a significant bug cycle in the first few weeks/months of new AutoDesk software releases. Currently running AutoCAD LT 2024 for Mac - considering installing AutoCAD LT 2025.

Do most folks wait a while before updating to the newest versions, or jump on board right away?

I don't know how to use most basic features... so there's really nothing I can imagine needing in the newest version, but it is nice to have the latest & greatest, especially if there's any significant additional level of polish or UI improvements.

Any help or links would be super welcome.

Thanks everyone!

Hi @Adam6000 ,

You can install and use AutoCAD 2025 along with AutoCAD 2024 and use either of them if necessary.

This way you can decide for yourself which version is better.

Learn to use 2024-version, once you are comfortable with your abilities, then consider jumping to newer versions if you feel the new tools are worth it.

No use worrying about a new car just yet if you are just now learning how to drive 😉

Thanks so much for the ideas. I've decided to install both (as maxim_k suggested) and go ahead with 2025 as my everyday version, while keeping 2024 handy for any time I run into issues. That way I have a fall-back, like I do with Safari & Chrome.

I'm really appreciative of this community existing.

Thanks again for the help!
