Hi guys
There is a bug in the software regarding Source and Destination arrows between Jumpered terminals.
The problem occurs when terminals on different drawings are jumpered together in the Terminal Strip Editor and are also shown as connected using a JUMPER wire using a Source and Destination arrow to link between them.
The first time wire numbers are inserted there is no problem. The wire number from the Source arrow is sent to the jumpered destination. The problem only occurs if the Source wire number is accidentally deleted and a wire number update is performed on the Destination side only before the Source wire number has been rectified. The result - the Destination wire number goes to ??? and this is not reset after performing a Wire Numbering on the Source side. The wire number must then be forced on the Source side.
We are using AutoCAD Electrical 2017 (problem also occured in 2015 and 2016 but we hadn't figured out why until now).
To recreate the problem please see my attached project. Essentially
1) X1-1 and X1-2 are jumpered together using the Terminal Strip Editor. X1-1 is on Drawing1, X1-2 is on Drawing2. They are also shown as joined using a Source and Destination arrow on a JUMPER layer.
2) Run 'Wire Numbering' on Drawing1 (Source) and Drawing2 (Destination) - everything works
3) Delete the Wire Number on Drawing1(Source)
4) Run 'Wire Numbering' only on Drawing2 (Destination) - wire number turns to ??? as expected (no wire number on the Source anymore)
5) Run 'Wire Numbering' on Drawing1(Source) - wire number turns to ??? (this is not as expected). Now the wire number on the Source side is stuck on ??? and will not update - it must be forced to fix the problem. Once forced, the wire number on Drawing2 (Destination) updates again.
Could you please provide a patch to rectify this problem or contact me for more details.
Regards
David
