With the latest versions, you can set the PDF prints to actually surf using the cross references.
Can this sort of functionality be added to the main program.
Clicking on the child cross reference, could perform a quick surf to the parent's location.
With the parent, clicking on a contact reference will take you straight to the child.
Yes, there is the Surf tool, but with that, you have several steps to surf while this idea is just 1 click and you are there.
Second idea for the Cross Reference is to do with the cross reference tables.
Can these be set up in such a way that the user can place them on another page?
For example, I have seen projects that had a page full of these tables that the worker could set to one side and then flip through the drawings while referring back to the one sheet for all the cross references.
Next idea is more of a complaint abut the current updating of the cross references at the parent.
Can something be done so that when the cross references are updated, the cross reference stay in the position that it was in rather than reverting to the base location specified in the block definition. Quite often, I will finish a drawing, place all the cross reference tables in a location where they will not be in the way. Then the client will request a change and when that is done along with the attendant cross reference update, I have to move the affected tables again.
Regards Brad
