SCHEMATIC tab for AutoCAD MEP Please!

SCHEMATIC tab for AutoCAD MEP Please!

Hi developers,

I wouldn't be the first one who got the idea of putting SCHEMATIC tab options from Electrical to MEP AutoCAD, but I am sure

a lot of people felt this should be done long time ago.

Isn't it obvious to put SCHEMATIC tab from AutoCAD Electrical to AutoCAD MEP?

And why don't we discontinue Electrical anyway? All Since MEP includes electrical, and more advanced options as well.

Anyway, we can download any electrical objects & elements from libraries or 3rd parties models.

Anyone thought of it?

😉

Hi Leo.

As far as I know MEP, there are quite a few tings missing that's needed for drawing electrical schematics. So I guess that's why they don't discontinue AutoCAD Electrical.

And, there's nothing I can think of, in MEP, that I miss in AutoCAD Electrical.

Not really sure what you mean with this idea 🙂

My job is to design electrical schematics and that's it.

I don't do mechanical designs beyond panel layouts. That I leave to the mechanical engineers who use a totally different program.

None of our panels use pneumatics or their components.

Why would I buy a program designed for Mechanical Electrical and Pneumatics when it doesn't have all the functions I require?

Electrical has most of the functions I need and more.

MEP is designed more for a broad view of factory layouts and power/pneumatic supplies, not for the real detail work that electrical does on control schematics.

Two different packages for two totally different requirements in design.

Regards Brad
