In Autodesk Inventor when a user creates a new drawing they navigate to the left side and choose new drawing. When the visualizations are created from an Autodesk Inventor drawing it uses the user created Inventor sheets to create the visualizations.
In AutoCAD sheet management is not user friendly. Users must manually create layout tabs for each drawing sheet and update them whenever a drawing is changed in order for Vault web client users to easily print individual AutoCAD drawing sheets.
My company has several thousands of AutoCAD drawings which have multiple drawing sheets contained in a single Model tab with blank layout tabs. Therefore, when someone accesses the Vault web client they are unable to easily print individual sheets from the AutoCAD drawing. This issue is a huge obstacle for us, preventing the roll out the Vault web client on a large scale within our company.
Please add a feature to AutoCAD, like Inventor, where users have the option to use an improved sheet system. As a Vault administrator, I do not have any control over how my coworkers who create new AutoCAD drawings without layout tabs, but if there was an improved sheet system it would save us all a lot of time and would make the Vault web client solution viable.
We need an integrated solution for sharing released drawings electronically and the current sheet system in AutoCAD is preventing our company from implementing the Vault web client.
