I recommend expanding the AutoCAD file properties to include more default properties (similar to Inventor as shown). Making these file properties consistent across Autodesk file types would allow a much cleaner effort in mapping file properties to Vault. I understand the common practice of mapping AutoCAD attributes to Vault properties, but older companies often have several variations of titleblock formats and some of the data is difficult to extract consistently. Some companies even have text-based titleblocks in place of attributed ones. I also understand that companies can create custom properties, but this does not help migrate hundreds of thousands of files which have already been created without those properties. I have also had mixed success with custom properties being extracted as consistently as the default iProperties from Inventor.
In summary, I propose matching the file properties of AutoCAD vertical filetypes more closely with Inventor iProperties so that Vault configurations and workflows can be consistent across applications.
