I am a recent user of AutoCAD electrical 2017. I come from long term use of Autodesk Inventor.
In going through tutorials I had a real time creating a new project. The buttons were grayed out and no tool tips come up when they are grayed out not helping the situation with information. I experimented around, searched the web, looked at the help to no avail.
I finally figured out you have to open a drawing before you can create a project. It seems to me to be a bit backward to the typical management of a project. Define the project, then put all the files for that project within it.
As a minimum, the help should clearly delineate what is required to create a project and the ideology that goes along with it.
Likely I have missed a great document or link somewhere that will make this very clear, but at this point its all a bit foggy.
I believe in the myth of the users.
