BOM Sheet Numbers

Problem:

When running a schematic BOM there is no option to include "Panel" components. When running a panel BOM there is an option to include schematic components but the sheet references will be for the panel components only. Most companies I work with prefer the sheet referecnce to point to the component in the schematic. To get a complete BOM with correct sheet numbers a schematic and panel has to be run.

Solution:

Add option to include panel only components to schematic BOM. This will enable components such as din rail, trunking etc to be included and will result in a complete BOM with accurate sheet references in one report.

while they are looking at that another scenaro i have had many times is free issue components

items free issued to the panel builder from another source i.e vsd's remote i/o for interlocks etc etc etc

obviously you have to draw them in you designs and show these items on the backplate but you dont want them to appear on the parts list for order

the simple solution would be a setting in the symbol/footprint for it not to be included in parts lists and to ignore any missing parts in the electrical audit
