2 Bugs, 3 Peeves

2 Bugs, 3 Peeves

Don't know if this is the correct place, but I've encountered 2 definite bugs now.

1.) When using AutoCAD E 2020, if screencast is installed, it causes the ribbon to disappear. The ribbon will not reappear until a different workspace is selected.

2.) I have multiple problems when it comes to closing the block editor. Often, when I click the giant green check mark, nothing happens. I often end up either saving the block, then clicking the check, at which time it will work, or, if I don't want to save the block, just hit UNDO until I'm out of the block editor. I don't know what specifically causes this but I've encountered it numerous times, with different blocks. If it helps, the blocks were ones previously created in Vanilla w dynamic options for visibility states, and were being edited under the symbol builder to have terminal points and ACADE's attribute text.

3.) This part is not a bug per se but more a peeve: in the project manager, if a dwg is selected and R clicked for "rename", the new name often doesn't appear until refresh is clicked. This can be really confusing, because you literally have just finished the renaming command and it appears to immediately revert back to the previous name once you are done typing. I didn't know about refresh at first and this was a real issue as I was learning.

4.) AEWIRETYPE will work to change the lines on a vanilla drawing to wires, which is great. But it won't work on polylines, which is a real oversight. I almost always used polylines in vanilla because there were so many ways to easily manipulate the plines.

5.) I don't know if Autodesk can in any way assist this, but there are a ton of videos on YouTube right now that claim to be training for ACADE that are very obviously just someone drawing lines and circles and claiming that "this is how you use autocad electrical". This ate up a ton of my potential training time. I will reply with the name of some of them if I come across them again. I don't know if there's a way to shut them down due to copyright infringement, but anyway, they're a huge disservice to everybody.

I can quickly answer #4.

AEWIRETYPE will not work with polylines. Wires are to be lines only.

Partial for #2. ACE does not work well with Dynamic blocks. It is expecting the blockname to stay the same and dynamic blocks change the blockname they are modified.
