Wires dont go to wire fixed layer when fixing with edit wire number tool

Hello all,

So basically title. I have problems with the projects I create on Autocad because it doesnt fix wire numbers when I try to fix them using the edit wire number tool. I am pretty sure that it has to be the project properties beacause if I copy the exact same drawing to another project that I was given, the fixing thing works perfectly. I have looked everywhere but I am not sure what properties is reponsible of this.

Any help?

When setting a wire number to fixed, the wire number symbol/block is just moved to anohter layer. WIREFIXED in a standard setup.

Do you get any error messages when trying to fix the wire number?

The layers seem fine.

When I try to fix the wire I get the below message on the command box:

(wire number text remains on the "hide wire number" layer)

I have a different project where the fix wire thing works fine, so I think it should be a project property but I am not sure which one.

If you add this drawing to another project, and say NO to apply project properties.... And then you run Compare Settings...
What are the differences betwwen this drawing and the new project?

Only this:

Drawing                        Project (The project where it doesn't work)

6      Wire numbering mode:  R=reference  S=sequential          S                                          R
47    Off-page cross-reference format (ex: %S-%N)              (NONE)                                %S-%N

The error is saying that the wires are on the 'Hide Wire Number' layer.

Have you confirmed that such a layer exists?

Are the numbers in question actually on that layer?

Are the numbers 'HIDDEN'?

If you unhide the wire numbers, and then try to fix them, does it work?

Regards Brad

This seems to be, by the information we've got so far, a problem with the project rather than the drawing. Or a combination.

Still, it's difficult to find out why, without having a look.

Can you post the problem project with the problem drawing in it here?

The one called 79838E07C6794D6CELD.WDP is the one that works good.

The one called test4.wdp is the one that doesn't work.

Any project I create doesn't work good. The one that works fine was created by someone else.

I changed the file extensions because I couldn't upload them with .wdp. Just change them back to .wdp and the should work fine.

I'm not able to replicate. Can you send your drawing as well?

See attached drawing. You can use it as test. If I put the same drawing on one project it works fine but then if I change it to the other it doesn't work the fix tool.

If you are saying that you don't have that problem. It might be my AutoCAD I guess.

I guess I kind of found out.

What put me off was that you're able to get i to work in another project? I'm not able to replicate that. The problem is in the drawing.

As @Icemanau wrote earlier, the wires number are "hidden". That means that the wire numbers is moved to the WIRENO_HIDDEN layer. This layer should normally be frozen, but it's not in your drawing. That's why you're able to see the wire number.

Use theses tools to hide/unhide your wire numbers (You should UNHIDE al your wire numbers):

I'd recommend that you put different colors on the layers WIRENO, WIRENOFIXED and WIRENO_HIDDEN. That will make it sooo uch easier for you to see the status of the different wire numbers:
