Using AutoCAD Title Block in AutoCAD Electrical

After spending many hours looking for a simple method to do this,  can someone point to tutorial or instruction set to make this happen?

I can copy any paste the title block in but when I update descriptions nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

Hi there,

You right click on the active project, select DESCRIPTIONS, fill in the info (yours is probably different attributes than mine), right click on the active project again, select TITLE BLOCK UPDATES, check the boxes you want, click on ACTIVE DRAWING or PROJECT-WIDE and nothing happens?

While Tim's answer is correct, he does skip over one of the possibilities.

Did you create this title block using ACADE's Title Block Setup tool? If not, it CAN'T update.

If you need to create a title block for ACADE, check out the entries in HELP and also refer to Doug McAlexander's walkthrough at his website: http://www.ecadconsultant.com/tips.html#Template

Hi Jim,

That is exactly one part of what was happening but also the answer above is extremely well laid out.  Once or twice I found myself wondering why it still was not working only to realize that I was not in the right project in the property manager.  Once this gets set up it is nice and quick.  Also very helpful to get a more exact idea of the steps here from the prior post.

I am very much new to AutoCAD E but think this may be a very nice tool to produce quality schematics.  Some features are just so nice like wires trimming when scooted.  Nice time savers all over this program.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Mike

Thanks TR for the well laid out response.  I also had set up the WDT file using the Title Block Setup tab correctly.  This was a hurdle but all the steps you have here are exactly right too.  Thank you for the feedback.

Best regards,

Mike
