TSE item numbers on accessories in a report

Anonymous
Not applicable

ACADE 2016

I am trying to insert a report on my panel layouts by item number. When I use Panel Reports, Bill of Materials, Display in "By TAG" Format; the item number of terminal strip is correct. However accessories added in the TSE are all the same. When I check the individual components they have a unique item number. When I use a Panel Report, Component, Include Terminals, it will list the correct item number with the individual components. However, this method returns every terminal block on its' own line.

Is there a bug in the reports? Does anyone have a work around for this issue?

Try the Resequence Item Numbers utility.

I have tried to resequence the item numbers using AERESEQUENCE. It still gives me the same results.

Check your Item Numbering setup in the Project Settings.

It sounds like you have Per-Component selected for the Item Assignments rather than Per-Part-Number.

Make sure it is set to the Per-Part-Number and run the Resequence Item Number tool again.

You may also want to experiment with the other setting.

This setting either resets the item numbers in each drawing or accumulates them over the entire project.

I have it set to per part number. However I know right clicking on a drawing I can apply the project default settings. Do I need to do that for each drawing after I make a change like this?

If you made the change in Project Properties you must select all drawings using Shift+Select, then right-click over the selected drawings and Apply Project Defaults. (see attached screen capture)

I assumed that you had already engaged Item Numbering on a per-part basis.  Be aware that this only works with the Multiple Catalog option for creating subassemblies.  It will not work with assemblies that are created using the Assembly Code method. I requested the ability to assign item numbers to subassembly parts back in the early 2000s but they couldn't do it for assemblies built by Assembly Code.  The ability to assign item numbers to Multiple Catalog entries was added in release 2009.
