Terminal MULTIPLE POSITION TERMINAL BLOCK - ST 2,5-QUATTRO

I use the terminal PHOENIX CONTACT / MULTIPLE POSITION TERMINAL BLOCK - ST 2,5-QUATTRO

I inserted the terminal image and assigned the catalog data:

galashkina_0-1700566331200.png

Terminal levels are displayed:

galashkina_1-1700566378805.png

This is a single–level terminal with four connection points.

galashkina_2-1700566396693.png

I inserted 3 more terminals:

galashkina_3-1700566418824.png

I Associate Terminals:

galashkina_4-1700566446295.png

I inserted a layout image:

galashkina_5-1700566446297.png

But I am worried about doubts: have I done everything necessary?

I want to build jumpers between terminals:

galashkina_6-1700566468998.png

I want to show the terminal numbers on the layout image:

galashkina_7-1700566494126.png

Help me to cope with my doubts:

  1. Do I need to show the jumpers between the terminals???
  2. Do I need to show the terminal numbers on the layout image???

3. Maybe all parts of the terminal should be assigned the same designation (XT5:1) ???

I think this counts as a single level terminal with 2 wires per connection

I would show as just one terminal schematic with connections like this

jamesmcmillanNYR6A_0-1700567983168.png

or this, depending on your preference

jamesmcmillanNYR6A_1-1700568042644.png

you can control where the wires land in the TSE and graphically show the points if you require, I've not been so specific about my A and B terminations

Thanks!
The option you have suggested is simpler and more convenient.
However, Phoenix Contact has come up with a more complex design, and customers choose this design. ☹️

I'm not sure what you mean by"more complex design"?

The only problem with these terminals in AcadE is when customers want to split them up schematically, like having parent/child relationships.

You can for example out a terminal representing the two top connections on one page, and then separately place the two lower connections on a separate page. This is would be very useful, and is already suggested in the idea forums, a long time ago.

(And yes, competing software support this)

the option I've suggested is my solution for using Wago 280-874 and similar

Yes, WAGO considers such terminals to be single-level and calls them "4-CONDUCTOR THROUGH TERMINAL BLOCK"
PHOENIX CONTACT considers such terminals to be multi-level and calls them "MULTIPLE POSITION TERMINAL BLOCK"

Yes, I also thought about the parent/child relationship.

I placed 4 terminal (number of levels), assigned them the same designation, for example, XT5:3 and connected them into one terminal.

One terminal is displayed in the report and one terminal is also displayed in the layout drawing.

Combining terminals by levels is similar to establishing a parent/child relationship.

Where do they call it a "MULTIPLE POSITION TERMINAL BLOCK"?
Can't find that on their web site

This is the name of the terminal in the AutoCAD Electrical database

https://www.phoenixcontact.com/en-no/products/feed-through-terminal-block-st-25-quattro-3031306

It's a normal feed through terminal, with 4 connection points. Often used for power distribution.

The database contains the number of levels, the name of the levels and the number of wires per connection

Is this terminal list not implying the terminal will take 16 wires?!

jamesmcmillanNYR6A_0-1700724876970.png

I hope I haven't misunderstood the database!

could you achieve what you need with a 2 level terminal, 1 wire per conn, PINL A,B, PINR C,D (maybe)? although this would only allow 2 schematic terminals to be shown, and if you wanted to refer to the whole terminal as single number you would never be able to renumber the terminals

Thank you for participating in the discussion!

This is the first time I use terminals of this type and I have not yet fully understood how to use them correctly. I decided to use information from the AutoCAD Electrical database, and only two wire can be connected to the terminal there. The program monitors this moment and will inform me if there are more wires connected to the terminal.

Now my terminal block contains 6 terminals, each terminal has 4 levels.

Perhaps I will receive comments from a specialist who will mount the wires, and I will have to change the circuit.

I use a similar terminal from Rockwell. 1492-L3Q.

testsubject_0-1701377886750.png

This is how I draw it.

testsubject_1-1701377953531.png

I treat it like a 2 tier terminal block.: pins 3 and 4 are the bottom (outside) and pins 1 and 2 are the top (Inside).

testsubject_2-1701378118838.png

This is NFPA style.
