Table Generation Setup Dialog Box - Column Width

Hy

Is there a way to save the user settings of the Table Generation Setup Dialog Box page?

When I create a Report Table,  and try to insert it in the drawing, the option Column Width by default is proposed in Calculated automatically .

Each time, I have to go to Definition Widths and set the values I want manually.

Normally, I put the reports in Insert New (non-updatable) mode (because I use the same type of report several times in the project and therefore I cannot use the updatable solution).

I also need to change the table style and other options on the same screen

Thanks in advance

Stefano

IMO if you use the same table style you sould have that setup in you template drawing or the ACE tablesytyles drawing then create and save the report format to select from before runing your next report.

Best regards,

Jeff

Thanks but in the table style, I can only set the fonts, spacing between lines etc, but not the width of the columns.

Use the report format setup command to save your settings to a *.SET file.

Make sure you select this file each time you create the report:

Thanks for the reply

I already use the saving of the report with the PNLCOMP.SET file, but only the settings are saved in this file as ORDER TITLE FORMAT.

All settings made after pressing the PUT ON DRAWING button must be reset each time
(Table style - Column width - ..)

If you look at the screenshot that Trond posted earlier, in the middle of the window there is a button for "Put on Drawing."

I have had some success changing widths there. The results require more trial-and-error on my part someday when I have time (never) but at least the values I picked are coming up when I select my .set file.

To change width, table style and to make non-updatable, to set insertion point etc, see the screenshots below:

  1. click Report Format Setup,

put on drawing.png

change width.png

once you have defined the settings you want, make sure you save it under a unique name  (click Save As Format file) so that you dont update the default .set file. Once .set file is set, you can also change the widths by in opening the .set file in notepad.

First of all, thank you all for the support

I think the problem is related to the Autocad version
I use 2021 and the screens are different.

When I go to Put on Drawing (image 2 .....), after changing the settings, I have 2 possibilities, the Cancel command or give the OK to insert in the drawing.   After inserting the report, I return to the command line without being able to save the last settings.
I can only save the settings in the previous screen (Field..  Order ...)

I am attaching an example of the pnlcomp.set file and as you can see, I am missing the items concerning the Put on Drawing screen.

I'll try to do some tests by adding something to the end of the pnlcomp.set file ........ hoping to get it right

This may be a dumb question but just want to check - you are using the report setup, not actually running the report?

After your image 2 updates, did you click Save format file or Save as Format file as shown below? This will save all changes you made in your image 2.

Unfortunately it wasn't a stupid question ...  😥

You are definitely right. I saved the .set file with the other key

Thank you all

In my first post, I mentioned to click "1. click Report Format Setup" .............., probably you didn't notice it.
