Hello 

Could anyone tell me how to insert icon for siemens PLC .

Why can't I find Siemens icons in icon menu Like AB, And Automation Direct PLC

The Menu Library is for Fixed PLC Components Only, ACADE primarily handles PLC components through its Parametric Builder:

If you do not see Siemens in the list, go to Programs and Features, and go to the Uninstall / Change, and add Siemens Content:

ACADE is somewhat Limited in their offering to mainstream stuff, as you can see from my Screen Shot I have had to make a number of Woodward Products in the Parametric builder (I use an excel file to create the parametric import into the MDB) to do what we need.

GClark is exactly correct, and I'd like to add that if you're using ACADE 2015, you may have to actually reinstall the software in order to get the new vendors in your catalog. I've had to do it several times, it's very frustrating. Finally I just did an install where I picked a larger number of vendors for the catalog, like 75% of what's offered.

I'm not sure if that issue exists in other versions.

for future reference Jseefdrumr, there are MDB adding files that have all the information for each individual supplier with the installation you can apply the mdb deployment into the catalog file manually through microsoft access without going through a re-install. 

For example, I have done allot of adding for our standard products stuff and when moving to 2017 I wasn't about to start over again so I used merged the mdb's. 

The Default directory for these supplier mdb's is:

Autodesk PDRSU Installation\x64\en-us\Acade\Acade\Program Files\Autodesk\Root\MDBs

Becareful the root directories for PDRSU apply for inventor and such as well.

Look in Parametric, the fixed block availability for PLC Components is VERY LIMITED, it is likely the Siemens addition only applies to Parametric Components or maybe not any PLC Components. 

If after adding, there are no SIEMENS components then ACADE has not yet built out the product line. I am not sure how this process works as for example we primarily USE Okonite Cables, I had to build out Okonites Catalog additions manually as it would appear Anixter was the only supplier fully built out in the cable lists, they did some Belden Stuff as well but not all inclusive for multi conductor cables. I don't know if the Manufacturer builds this and submits it to ACADE or what but it definitely seems preferential.

Also, these catalogs have expended every year, please identify the year you have and I can check the SRC MDB if there are Parametric's for Siemens PLC devices. If your year doesn't have it, I am sure you can merge the MDB file into your current catalog from a newer year to get the library you are looking for... 

This is kind of cheating, not sure how Autocad would perceive this as it is their work product you should be paying for.

FWIW, this has come up somewhere on the forum before, and I believe that any vendor content we get is submitted to Autodesk from the manufacturer, purely from the goodness of their hearts.

Also, Autodesk doesn't chase down the details of the catalog info to update it, once it's submitted to them. The catalog info that came with my install has a couple of model lines that no longer exist, or that have changed. (I'd rather have them focus on making the software work better anyway.) There are many reasons why some manufacturers don't offer info to Autodesk, sometimes because they have affiliations with some other software product.

It's well-established that ACADE users will have to make their own symbols and blocks occasionally; there are tools included in the software for this purpose.

I have uninstalled the program  and installed it again selecting only siemens but I didn't find siemens icons, still AB, and Direct automation only

I don't know what is the problem, is there any way to install the Icon menu manual?

What version of AutoCAD Electrical? I discovered an issue with 2017 related to updating the catalog database with more, or less, vendors after the software has been installed. I reported this to Autodesk but I do not know if/when it will be fixed in a service pack or not.

There are no Siemens PLC modules in the icon menu under fixed units.  The Siemens PLCs are in the Paremetric PLC list (see attached image), like was mentioned in an earlier post.

In the catalog broswer, I could find siemens data but without icon.

where could I open the window you attached in the previous post?

The Catalog Browser will not display an icon like you are thinking. You have to create an association.

Theread are two ways to get to the Parametric PLC list. The quickest is to click the icon at the top middle of the smaller group of icons located on the Insert Components ribbon panel.

From release 2022 you cannot choose what manufacturers to install. You get everything installed.
