Screencast caused 'The RIbbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded'

Hello,

I was trying to solve another problem and installed screencast to show my workflow. During install ACADE crashed and when reopened I have 'The RIbbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded'. I have tried:

1. CUILOAD, unloaded ACAD and reloaded ACAD.CUIX  = No fix
2. CUILOAD, unloaded CHRONICLE, ACAD and juse reloaded ACAD.CUIX  = No fix
3. Programs and Features/ Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical 2017 - Repair   = No fix
4. CUILOAD, unloaded acade and reloaded = FIX  I then also loaded CHRONICLE with out problems.

Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.

Hi TRlitsey,

The difference is that step 1 is just unload and load the ACAD (acade.cuix) and step 4 I load and unload the Electrical (acade.cuix).

I've never done this before.

So I type in CUILOAD?

I just did this and its asking me for the name of customization file to load.

What is the name? It's will be the default name....which is??

When I type in CUILOAD and then acade.cuix I get a message.

Unable to load customization file

acade. cuix

that customization group name already exists.

I switched AutoCAD profiles and I got everything back. But I need to fix ACADE profile.

I tried this:

After loading AutoCAD, the ribbon is blank and shows the message:

Solution:To restore the ribbon, try one of the following methods:

• Switch to a different workspace and then back again.

• In the Options dialog box, change to a different AutoCAD profile and then back again.

• Reload the main CUI file:

  • Enter the CUILOAD command.
  • Click the Browse button.
  • Select the ACAD.CUIX file and then click Load.
    • ​If this is already loaded, unload it first and then load it again.

​The problem is I never had a browse button when typing commands.

do you know how to turn that on?

Hey @rhesusminus, any chance you might have a suggestion with this?  It is a bit outside my sandbox.  Looks like acad.cuix and acade.cuix are installed, who is who?

AutoCAD Electrical = ACADE.CUIX

I'm using a different profile for now. I have to get caught up from being down all day.

I haven't figured it out yet.

My hang up is when I do a command, I don't have a browser. I have to type in the full path and that doesn't work for cuiload command

Hi again, I am not clear on what you mean.  I think of a 'browser' as the tool to search for files.  Are all of your tools back but the file manager is not working?  Under View > Options, or right clicking in a blank area of the active drawing and selecting Option from the pop-up you can adjust some of the display settings.

Ummm, still not sure what you mean by 'browse'.  Are we looking for files, commands, web page, or do you mean a general search function?  Is the Menu Bar turned on (command line menubar = 1) for you to open the FILE flyout?

Can you pick one of these if this is what you are 'browsing' for?

Try typing FILEDIA on the command line, and set it to 1.

This makes AcadE display a dialog box when it expects a filename.

As a side note... I AcadE only asks for a filename on the command line, type the tilde-character (~) and press enter. this should open a dialog box where you can browse for a file.
