I have jsut installed AutoCAD Electrical with my company's pre-configured deployment. Apparently they don't plan on anyone wanting to use some of the functions. Virtually ALL of the system variables come back as being set to "Read-Only" and cannot be changed.
I feel confident that there is a way to change this behavior, but I cannot find any information in the Help system, and there appears to be no one in the on-line world that knows this bit of magic either.
Can someone here tell me now to change the Read-Only control on the Sysem Variables, so that I can configure my system to work as I want it to? I'm not opposed to setting the control back to read-only when I'm done, in fact that might be desireable, but right now I can't even change the start screen option, much less some of the more detailed settings...
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

That sounds more like IT policies or Windows Policies and not something that ACADE does.
ACADE will change some settings on the fly for certain commands and then change them back. If those settings are set to read only then ACADE will throw up an error.
IT/Windows making certain drives/folders on a network read only or certain folders on the users system read only cause a lot of problems.
Check with your IT department to find out if they are the cause and if so, get them to fix it.
If they aren't, get them to check your install and user account security settings.
