PDF IMPORT ISSUES- help!

I am having trouble importing clean PDF files.

I don't have a "PDF Import" option under Insert....only "PDF Underlay".

When I try to select "Import" from File menu, I don't get workable files there either.

I'm new to AutoCAD 2020....but some files seem to import ok and are editable, while others are not.  I've been using a 2010 version for years.  Never had to import much, mostly exported to PDF.

Any help is most appreciated.  We do not get CAD files for the projects we have to modify (avionics).  But instead of drawing all the files, it's obviously easier to import and edit.

You may find some answers here : https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/importing-pdf-file-for-editing/m-p/6866598

It may depend on the type of PDF file you are trying to import...

Hope this helps!
Omar

Learn the difference between Raster and Vector PDFs here https://visual-integrity.com/faqs/spotting-difference-vector-raster-pdf/

PDFIMPORT command (you can always type it) only imports vector PDF files.
