Modified Symbol Block Tag Data Not Importing.

I modified a symbol using the symbol builder. However, this symbol was used thought the drawing. The idea of deleting every single component out of the drawing and retagging with a unique identifier seemed too wasteful. So, I created a new drawing inserted the new block/modified symbol in. Then went to the original drawing and copied out all of the components I needed to update. The blocks all updated in the new drawing, but they did not have the new tags that were inserted into the new symbol/block while the newly inserted symbol did. Is there a way to get these new tags inserted without losing all of the tag data?

Look at the block swap/update command.

It'll update all instances of a block in a sheet or throughout the entire project.

If I pick the newly inserted block and swap each component one at a time the command imports the new tags thank you.

If you have made changes to the symbol in the symbol library, the actual DWG, you should do the UPDATE instead of SWAP:

That makes sense I have been getting an AePmCom Error when I use swap that way. I have read it has something to do with office.
