Migration Utility issue

Migration utility was working fine, but since a couple of days ago I'm having a message about Microsoft Jet database cannot open the file and soruce/destination file type is not valid. Any idea what's going on?

Microsoft updates has caused massive problems for AcadE users lately.
Try to repair/reinstall the Access 2010 Runtime:

In theory I have the correct Access database engine version (14.0.7015.1000), but still I have tried to "Repair" the installation a couple of times, however the problem is still there and is only affecting the migration utility.

I haven't re-installed it because I'll my IT department to be involved (they'd do their own troubleshooting... which usually make things worst before allowing any installation) and also because everything else is working fine.

The first image says to look at the log file. The second image suggests someone else has a file open the program is trying to access or is using that you are trying to overwrite. I suggest looking at the log file and make sure you're migrating to a different location.

Best regards,

Jeff

Regarding the access to the file, I have tried with different files, I have also copied the original files (*cat.mdb) to other locations and double checked the attributes and security details to make sure I can modify them and nothing else is trying to accessing them. On the other hand the log file is almost empty (just the date and my user). Below the other messages I got when using the utility

even nwith the default mdb file I got this messageeven nwith the default mdb file I got this messagemigration report.PNGmigration log.jpg

Extremely useless info in most of theses logs I have noticed and I can't remember where the good ones are. My recommendation at this point is to follow Trond's link and reinstall the data access components after you have done all the windows and ACE updates.

Best regards,

Jeff
