migrating from previous version

I just downloaded Autocad Electrical 2019, and i am getting an error saying "Error establishing connection to the catalog database (mdb) file".  Reading other posts, its telling me that i have to use the migrate utility tool, but it is not showing up on my computer as an option.  Any ideas?

Hi there,

On my application it is Project > Migration Utility.  I have to say, it is pretty easy to zig when you should zag with this tool.  If you have not used it I would suggest you do several hours of home work before jumping into it.

Good luck

I am making headway, but when it gets to the footprint_lookup.mdb, it freezes.  The from to locations look correct.  Do you happen to know why?

Hi again,

Sorry, I do not have a straight answer for you.  I have seen the size of files cause things to work REALY slow.  If you have double checked and everything looks right give it a little time.  If there is any question about your workstation or if you are trying to migrate anything over a network or peer to peer file sharing, just try to give it some time.  Go get a cup of coffee, check Youtube or Facebook call your mom, for a few/several minutes, if your lucky it is just the process struggling a bit.

Good luck

So i took your advice, and just waited.  It finally finished.  I looked at the log and it seems everything succeeded.  A couple of entries came up as ignored, but i dont really care about that.  However, when i insert, say a fuse, i still cant access the database.  It comes up as the same error.  However, i can do a catalog check, and i get the proper information for the block.  Did i miss a step somewhere?  when i go to autcad settings, everything is pointing to the right spot.  I even check my wd.env file to make sure that wasn't overriding something.  What do you think?

Also, thanks for your time with this.

I found it.....I decided to go through and open every table to see if i could find something weird, and one of my tables just crashed access.  So i went in and deleted the table, and now i can connect to the database...

Thanks again!
