Layout trouble in AutoCAD Electrical - multiple layouts for commonDWG

Hey Guys,

I recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2016 to AutoCAD Electrical 2018.

In the previous version, in order to plot to PDF my drawings, I was able to design a model with many Title blocks (attached file), and define a separate layout for every title block.

This was very efficient with design between title blocks, and publishing was super easy.

I the electrical version I seem to have trouble creating multiple layouts from the SAME DWG. Is it possible to use a single DWG and publish several layouts?

Thanks

Only if you like to torture yourself.

In AcadE, 1 sheet = 1 dwg. And you have all the tools needed for making it work in the program.
You really should consider learning the AutoCAD Electrical way.

In the ACADE best way is to follow the autocad electrical way as it has a lot of benefits and saves time. Till you master the acade you still can draft drawing as standard autocad i.e. creating multiple layouts from the SAME DWG (multiple title blocks / drawing on same model space). To display the layouts:

  • type command OPTIONS
  • select tab Display
  • in the Layout elements groups (LH bottom corner), tick the box "Display Layout and Model Tabs"
  • click Apply  then OK
  • Publish is same as standard autocad.
