I'm having a problem with my IEC Electrical Symbols. They are not displaying as they should - they are still displaying as NFPADEMO symbols. How do I fix this?

Hi Theresa.

It's diffuclt to say why with so little information.
Did you change the schematic libraries path in your project to point at the iec-60617 folders?
Maybe you need to purge your drawing of all existing blocks before you insert them again?

Hi, I did try purging but it still seems to be selecting the American Standard Symbols and not the South African IEC symbol

This is what I get when I should be getting

So I'm a little stumped.

Hi there,

You can take a look at a few things.  Start a new drawing in your active project.  For this example select the Schematic tab.

Select the Icon Menu to insert a component, what is the Menu being used shown as?

You can right click on the component icon itself to see the path to file it will insert.

If anything is not pointing to what you want, right click on the Active Project title in the Project Manager, from the fly out window select Properties and verify/change these paths to the folders you want to use.  And just to say it, if you are working with a project someone has been working on the Drawing Properties maybe different from the Project Properties.  But check the pointers, my money says there is just one or two of them you need to redirect.

Good luck

Hi, I have already done all the settings you have suggested and my symbols are still not coming in correctly. I have asked our IT department to try load it again. I'm hoping this will help. But thank you for your help
