Hyperlinks in PDF working on objects that shouldn't surf

Has anyone come across Footprints like Din rail, wireway, custom subpanels and enclosures having hyperlinks that surf in PDF's? There are two projects that have have been created that objects that do not and shouldn't surf in AutoCAD for some reason surf in the created PDF. The first picture is from the pdf you can see that din rail is hyperlinked to another page any other footprint that will surf in the pdf that should all point to the same page when clicked. In AutoCAD I get the expected error message shown in the second photo. I copied this particular project (drawings and settings) to create a new panel and project I have no issues with that one. I have deleted the malfunctioning projects scratch database and reopened and republished still happening, I have deleted, purged, ran an audit and swapped blocks they still link to another page.Screenshot 2026-09-11 123125.pngScreenshot 2026-09-11 123526.png

I can recreate this in the NFPADEMO project also.

Must be a bug. @jaya_priya_ramasamy  Are you also able to replicate? And explain why?

Hi @rhesusminus

I tried to do that in NFPADEMO.pdf. I am not able to reproduce it. Attached the video here. If i go closer to terminal, then i can see the hyperlink for the terminal.

Please let me know whether i understood the workflow correctly.

No, if you look at the attached photo in my first posting you can see that the entire din rail is highlighted as if its hyperlinked (which it is and it will act as a hyperlinked object and take you to a random page in the pdf file) , I can assure where my cursor is to the right of any objects that one would assume would be hyperlinked like terminals or circuit breakers. Now in the dwg file itself when trying to surf I get the error dialog box that it is not a surfable object that due to missing attributes. So in the dwg file it does not surf, but when I or other users in the office batch plot the project object become surfable. This is not an every project occurrence where footprints like enclosures, subpanels, din rail, and wireway become surfable objects in the pdf it seems to be random at times, but if this happens the first time a project is plotted to pdf no matter how many times the project is plotted afterwards the footprints are surfable.
