How to merge two terminals in terminal strip.

Hey,

Can anyone tell me how to make two terminals appear at one terminal with 2 wires in the terminal strip editor as per the images I've uploaded ?

What I would like is for terminals 7 to appear at terminal 12 does.  My schematic is styled like a ladder, as shown in the secodn picture.  Is it possible to have the two terminals show up as one in the TSE the way I have my schematic set up ?

Any help is much appreciated !

To make one or more terminals appear as one, you may be interested in playing around with the block properties on terminals (In the Edit Component dialog for terminals) and Associating them together. It's normally used for multi-level terminals, but might be just what you're looking for.

You can get something like this:

I've also attached the drawing so that you can have a look at what I've done.

Hey !

Thanks for the response.  Would you happen to know if there's a way for me to assign a wire to a terminal via TSE once I've transformed it in to a multi level terminal ?

I've attached two pictures.  The first one is to show you what I would like to do on my terminal strip.

The second one is to put you into context of my drawing.  I'm simply trying to link all my wires to terminals on my strip which will serve as commons for 0 VDC.  At the point I circled, what I did is I had a terminal TB1-0 there, which I put on a frozen layer so as to make it hidden.  I filled that spot with lines and a dot to show that two wires go to this terminal, rather than have each wire appear to have it's own terminal.

Basically, I was two wires per terminals on my terminals strip without making it look on the schematic as if each wire had it's own terminal.

Hi,

Alright I've figured it out.  I'll post the solution to save others time.

To recap: What I'm trying to do is simply to represent an installation where TWO wires are commonly inserted into ONE side of a terminal.  I was trying to have this shown on my terminal strip (two wires going in).

So what I did is I gave each wire it's terminal block on the schematic diagram (see untitled).  Then I added every second terminal block to a seperate layer, which I froze, to make it invisible yet still present (see untitled2).  I filled in the connectiosn with LINES not wires, to keep all connections as they were before freezing the layer.

Then I created a modified wd_terminal2 block which is the default block for multi-leveled terminals.  I modified it to look like the regular single level default terminal since we are in fact, not using multi-level terminal but merely single level with 2 incoming wires.

Saved that block, created catalog entry, linked symbol, modified footprint_lookup.mdb file and here you go (see image untitiled3).

Only going into much detail and answering my questions because I started using ACADE a week ago and I KNOW how much these forums can be helpful.
