How to delete component form database which is acidently deleted by keyboard del

HI everybody,

I'm working on some electrical design and accidentally I hit keyboard delete instead of proper AUTOCAD Electrical command for deleting of component (from ribbon or right click). This creates me a huge problem when I start working with terminal strip, it happens that  I have more terminals that it is actually shown on schematic dwg and I can't do anything about that. Since, this kind of mistake will most probably happen again I am curious is there any method that would allow me to remove components form data base which are deleted from schematic using keyboard delete.

Thanks

Petar

Type AEREBUILDDB at the command prompt and press enter.  Choose a Full Rebuild.

Hi Doug,

I already try with AEREBUILDDB and full rebuild and I still have same issue, some components are present despite they are not on drawing. Is there anything else that I could do to fix this issue.

Thanks

Since your core problem was having terminals in your terminal strip that don't exist in the schematic: Are you certain that the terminal strip editor isn't adding terminals to your strip on its own? The TSE does that if it decides that you don't have enough terminals for the number of connections.

AEREBUILDDB has no effect on this. If TSE decides you need extra terminals, you get them. The only way to get rid of them is to physically delete those footprints from the terminal strip after it's generated. But, the next time you try to edit that terminal strip, TSE will add them back in again.

You can close AutoCAD Electrical, go to the User folder and delete the project scratch database.  It will be named whatever your project is named and it will have a .mdb file extension.  Don’t delete anything else in that folder.

Just to be clear, if you are seeing an extra terminal in Terminal Strip Editor that is a different issue.  That is a spare that the Terminal Strip Editor inserted because you connected too many wires to anther terminal in the strip.  To solve this issue you must assign a wire sequence to the wires that connect to the terminals in the strip.  Using wire connection dots without assigning a wire sequence will cause this issue.

The attached video shows how to assign a wire sequence.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for video but my case quite simple it is basically point to point connection and there is no problem with wire sequence, problem is actually related to the doubling of wire between those two points, so when I look at terminal strip it shows me like I have two wires between those points instead of 1. Physically there is not going to be installed 2 wires for that connection so I don't want to have them on drawing, and I don't to manually edit drawing after generation of terminal strip, on that way I will have to that after every revision and generation of strip and than Autocad Electrical loosing purpose.

I tried to find scratch database but it wasn't there so I am confused now what to do. Is there any other method how to solve issue, is that scratch database is under .mdb extension or .ldb since I am currently using default_cat.mdb?

Thanks

in my case I don't have more than 2 wires per terminal so I don't see why spare is necessary since terminal can accommodate 2 wires (in and out). My assumption is that terminal strip editor somehow picking up information about keyboard deleted terminal and show it on strip, so I am looking for solution how to get rid of that terminal from database, i.e. how to access to database and delete those extra terminal.

Another issue is related to duplication of wire connection between 2 points of connection despite the fact that only one wire is required and used. Somehow CAD always put 2 wires form unknown reason. I tried to limit terminal connection to 1 and in that case strip editor add additional terminal block with same number and same connection, exactly the same copy of previous.

Any idea how to solve these issues?

Thanks
