Hello,
I recently started using electrical so I am not well versed in it yet. I have used the parent child relationship feature for relays, cables markers, etc that can be found on the icon menu. But there are many custom symbols that I have to create that cannot be found in the icon menu. Can you please show me how to create an parent child relationship for custom symbols that I create? I understand you have to choose "horizontal parents" etc which create a symbol, but what about the child component? Just as an example, what if I want to use the same sensor in multiple pages and wanna have one parent and multiple children.
Thanks
DJ

Well.. If you know how to create a parent symbol, can't you try these?
So it’ll have to be brute force of sorts. Where I create a child components that looks just like the parent for many of these devices. And throw them I different pages.
Yes, using AcadE you'll have to do it this way (Competing software have solved this in an elegant way).
You can also use the WDTYPE attribute to create a peer parent component, You'll have to create a lot of symbols anyhow.
Parent blocks have a TAG1 attribute while child blocks have a TAG2 attribute. Also remove the MFG/CAT attributes from the child block. Other than that, there are all the usual attributes for an electrical schematic block.
