Have you tried to 'Save As' with a new file name?
This will allow you to save the dwg. Once that is done exit ACADE.
This should clear any lock files your system has created in that session.
Now using File Explorer, navigate to the directory the dwg is located in.
Look for the old dwg and see if there are any files with the same name but DWL & DWL2 extensions.
These are the lock files and will prevent anyone who's system didn't create them from saving.
Try and delete the DWL & DWL2 files. If they delete, then open ACADE and try opening and saving the dwg again.
If they don't delete, then someone else may have the file open. Please note that there are certain server settings that may also prevent you from deleting these two files as well. If the files are on a server, then you may need to speak to your IT about it.
