Default templates

Hello,

In autocad electrical 2016, I want to start with a default template file and don't have ACAD_ELECTRICAL.dwt.

Where can I download this file to start?

That file comes with AutoCAD Electrical. You should find it when you try to create a new drawing.

The file is located at C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2016\R20.1\enu\Template

Hi there,

Here are two samples for you as I do it at the company I currently work for.  One layout is for doing ladder schematics and the other is for assembly layout or overview drawings.  Both templates have similar attributes.  So the nice thing for how it is done here is that the schematic and assembly drawings can be in the same project.  When you have to copy to a new project or update the revision both layouts will be updated in one pass of the title block update.  The assembly drawing also has a list of attributes that can be used for a short bill of materials. 

These are only examples to give you some ideas for how you can setup the title blocks to get the best efficiency out of your work flow.  By the way, I built these with ACE 2014 but they seem to work fine in 2016, and so far they have worked in 2017 also.
