DB9 Connector to Pigtail, Fan In/Out, or???

Fairly new user trying to figure out how to represent a DB9 connector coming from my touchscreen and going to a pigtail. I also want to be able to show the wire colors on the pigtail in case someone needs to reinstall those wires in the field. I thought I should be able to use a Fan In/Out command, but my support rep said that you have to do a Fan In and Fan Out, but that doesn't represent what's going on visually.

You can see in my file that my support rep helped me complete a Fan In & Out so that we can show the wire colors.

I have so many other issues here....

1. Wire # markers are everywhere! The markers in "yellow" I can remove in the "list/edit" attribute drop down. I can't seem to control the wire markers in green without doing an "erase" on the leader and wire #.

2. I don't want to show wire numbers at all, the wires are too small to tag.

3. ACADE is showing the wire colors that I applied for "white" and "red" but not for the "black" wire, why??? How do I get it to show the wire color??

I want to also eliminate the fan out at the connector side.

In all maybe someone out there has a better way showing this properly without completely cheating the system!

Thanks!!

1. You can hide attributes by using the command AEHIDEATT or right-clicking on a component, under Attributes click Hide Attribute and then click on the attribute you want to hide - in this case the wire number.

2. You can hide individual wire numbers by using the command AEHIDEWIRENO or in the toolbar under the Edit Wire Number drop-down, click Hide. Click on the wire numbers individually or enter W and press Enter at the command line to drag a window and select multiple wires at the same time.

3. I've opened your drawing and noticed that BLK is not defined on your cable marker parent symbol - note that if you fill this value in before selecting any Catalog Data, this field will either become empty or fill in with the color you've defined in the catalog database once selected.

Additionally I'm unsure of how to use the Fan In only and have a connection report generate correctly - are you going to generate a to/from report? Maybe someone else can chime in if they know how to do what you're asking.
