Crosshair color (model space vs paper space vs viewport)

Here where I work, we keep our titleblock in paperspace and everything else in model space. To help me do a quick look and determine which space I'm in (helpful before a save and close or when first opening a drawing), I have my model space crosshair set to green and paperspace set to red. This works great except for the fact that being inside the viewport while in paperspace keeps the crosshair red. Is there a way to add a different color to the viewport crosshair so that I can have green=model, red=paper and viewport=a third color?

There's no way to do exactly what you want. That said, the status bar already tells you which space you're in. Pretty sure all versions of ACADE have it, it's been in Vanilla ACAD forever and a day.

Check out my first image. Notice 2 things: full-screen crosshairs (more on that below); and the red arrow. If you've never noticed that down there before it's about to become your best friend.

Second image: I am 'through' the viewport, meaning my crosshairs are in model space. Look at the bottom of the image: the status bar is now different... but that icon now says 'MODEL'.

Let's say you are in paperspace, and have zoomed in so that you can no longer see the edges of the viewport. (your viewports stay locked, right?). At this point, you'll see that 'PAPER' icon down there. If you double click in the drawing, you'll enter modelspace. But the status bar will change accordingly. 'PAPER' will become 'MODEL'. This way you'll always know which space you're in with just a glance. It will even allow you to work with one color for the crosshair, if you want.

Now, for even more fun, that icon is also a button. Click it to change which space you're in. This is a great thing to know if you work with people who forget to lock their viewports, and you're in their drawing, and you forgot about it until after you already went through a viewport.

Full-screen crosshairs:  one of the best tools IMHO, for ACADE. Helps me avoid using the ALIGN tools because I can just insert them in alignment with other things as I go. And when you're in paperspace, and have clicked through a viewport, the crosshairs become cut off at the viewport's edges. So, you instantly know without having to glance down at the status bar which space you're in. (IF you have any viewport edges on the screen, of course.)
