Hi,

I have problem with cross references. In new template when I put object in column from 0 to 6 everything match but from 7 -9 it's going crazy. (look at the photo). Could you help me to figure it out how to adjust it? I tried to fiend something similar in forum but I didn't find.

If we had the actual DWG it would be most helpful...

First of all, make sure that your columns in the title block are all the same size. If using the X-Y cross reference system, I would suggest making the rows the same size as well.

Each column has to be the same size as the previous column. ACADE is not set up to take into account different size columns. If the columns in the title block are sized differently from each other, then your cross referencing is going to be out, no matter what you do.

Next, check that the value for your column spacing in the Format Referencing setup (Project/Dwg Properties -> Drawing Format tab)  matches the spacing of the columns in the title block.

The final thing to check is that the origin point is to the TOP LEFT corner of the drawing area in your Title Block.

Check and correct those as needed and get back to us if you still have problems.

NOTES

1. When you add a new dwg to a project and apply the project properties to it, the project properties will OVERWRITE the existing dwg properties. Get the properties correct in a dwg first and then apply them to the project. From there, apply them to the rest of the dwgs in the project. Also apply the settings to any project you use as the basis of new projects.

2. If you need to update your TITLEBLOCK, you will need to update the template Title block used to create new dwgs. Also remember to update the title block in any existing dwgs in the current project using the 'SWAP/UPDATE BLOCK' tool.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. I went through your instruction but to me everything seems to be fine anyway.

I attached both .dwg and .dwt.

Okay, I have worked out where you may have gone wrong...

Your divisions are set up and measured along the OUTSIDE edge of the title block and not the INSIDE edge of the drawing area. If you selected the Origin Point of the X-Y Grid as shown in the X-Y Grid setting thumbnail to be the INSIDE TOP LEFT CORNER of the drawing area then your divisions are going to be out. ACADE expects all the divisions to be measured from the origin point rather than some other point.

NOTE all my measurements are taken from the origin point as shown in the thumbnail in the X-Y Grid settings...

Checking the divisions across the top of your title block I found that they are different lengths.

Division 0 and 9 both measure out to 24.7mm while 1 to 8 measure out as 29.7mm.

This means that if you set the Grid across the top to 24.7mm, then you are slowly going to get way out of sync and after six divisions, you will be one complete division out.

The solution here is to re do the divisions across the top of the title block so that each one is 28.7mm (from the Origin Point) and set your X divisions in the grid setup to the same.

Your Y divisions are also different from each other with A being 26.5526mm, B to E as 31.5526mm and F as 32.3861mm. For these, you need to change the divisions to 30.8582mm (again from the origin point) and have the Y setting in the grid setup as the same.

Your drawing area (the actual inside area of the title block where you do your dwg) for the title block is 287mm wide and 185.1492mm high. I would suggest changing the height to 186mm as that will give you a round number (31mm) for your division rather than a fractional distance with 4 digits after the decimal (30.8582mm). You should be able to find the 0.8508mm in the bottom section of the title block somewhere.

With the X, if you want to go to a round number, go to a measurement of 29mm for your divisions but don't change the width of the page itself. the final 3mm of the last column overlapping the edge of the title block and not being able to be used. This won't matter.
