Counting tips for the wires

Typically, electrical tips are used to connect wires to the terminals of the components. AutoCAD Electrical will be able to calculate the electrical tips based on the schema?

Do you mean ferrules?

They come in different sizes, so maybe add it as a user-field in the wire type?

Also, some components need a double ferrule when two wires are connected... This should be placed at the component level somehow?

AcadE does not have a default scheme for this, like the competition have unfortunately.

Hi Rhesusminus, what file did you edit to change the header from user1 to ferrule?

If you are referring to the Ring Terminal to connect wire(s) to a terminal of a component, probably the best way to do is use suitable terminal symbol from "Terminal and Connectors" and define terminal p/n in the component level. Depending on the industry standard, as a default, normally a terminal of the component accepts upto 4 Ring Terminals ie you can terminate up to 4 wires (different AWGs) using suitable AWG Ring Terminal. Terminal Symbol also allows to add Multiple Catalog. This really handy when 4 different AWG wires are required to connect to a common terminal using different terminal (awg) sizes.

according to autodesk wires have one end

so if you have a wire that has a ring crimp one end and a bootlace ferrule the other how do you distinguish which end has which connection type ?

and how do you make sure your to from report is correct

I believe, it depends on how you are going to setup your project / drawings. I have shown a typical example, see attached.  Item 101 being Ring Tag (for stud termination) and 102 bootlace ferrule (for screw termination). FROM / TO perfectly works (change headings as required), see attached.
