I am using AutoCAD Electrical 2024 and I am having an issue when I am trying to tag a footprint to a schematic using the "schematic list" button. I can find the part I want in the schematic, but when I select it, it asks if I want to overwrite the tag. If I say "keep as is" it adds the description from the schematic block, but no other information. If I say "ok" it will insert the component tag, but none of the catalog information comes in. Not sure what is causing this. Any help?
First of all, select OK to overwrite the Tag. It's asking if it's OK to change the existing component tag of the block you are editing to the one you selected from the schematic list.
Next, make sure the selected component has a catalog entry selected. I know ACADE sometimes has trouble with typed in values for the Manufacturer and catalog information, so if possible, do a lookup to get the part information.
Finally, make sure the dwg you are working with is part of the ACTIVE project and has been saved recently. Then do a Project Rebuild to bring the scratch database up to date.
