Changing Attribute text styles globally

Hi

Whenever I place a new schematic symbol, the text style of the attribute is always WD. I am wondering if there is any way to set the default Text Style to COS instead of WD or changing all the WD to COS after finishing my design.

I tried 2 methods below, but none of them works.

Method 1

1. Make sure your menu bar is showing. Click on the little down Arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar if it's not and select Show Menu Bar.

2. Click on format and then select Text Style from the menu.

3. Select the Text Style you wish to change from the list of styles active in the drawing.

4. Make the changes you require and select Apply.

5. Make sure the style is highlighted and then click on Set Current.

6 Click on Close.

Method 2

Running commend script file  under Project-Wide Utilities

You could just edit the WD text style so that it matches the other one...

It uses the WD text style because this is what's used in the symbol definitions.

The only way to achieve what you want is to create a script + come code to change the text style of all texts/attributes in all blocks in the entire symbol library.

The easiest way to fix the problem involves changing the WD text style in your template.

Open the Template dwg.

Select Text Style from the Format menu.

Highlight WD and change all the settings to match the COS text style.

This includes the Font & Style as well as the Width factor.

Unless you have everything at a specific height, leave the text height as 0. This will allow you to easily change settings in the Dimension & Table Styles.

Click Apply and then Close.

Now save your Template dwg again making sure to specify it as a template.

Every new dwg will now have that text style set.

For existing projects, for a small number of dwgs, I would just go in and change the WD Text Style of each dwg.

If you have a large number of Projects and/or Dwgs, you will need to use a script in the Project Wide Utilities to change the text style in all the dwgs automatically.
