Angle tee and "on per wire basis" setting do not work together

When I add a angle tee autocad will only permit net names and not per wire as I want. Same issue when I have a dot also.

 

Do autocad support wire numbers per wirebasis if you use a dot or angle tee?

 

It works fine if a draw wires to a component or terminal.

For that to work, you must draw "separate" wires to the connection point. AcadE does, for some silly reason, see all dots and wire tee's as the same "net".

That's a big issue I would say. Makes the software more or less useless as we can't follow the wiring convention we have. Guess we need to start looking at something else for furture electrical CAD.

I am curious how wire numbers would be assigned when using a dot or a Tee. In a simple example of three wires connected by a dot, are you expecting to see three separate wire numbers? is this correct?

 

Where does this separation or split take place in the physical world? Is there some kind of splice? Would this be driven off of the assigned wire sequence?

 

If using the wire sequence this would mean that a single wire end (as drawn) would have two wire numbers assigned to it. Correct? One wire number for the incoming wire, one for the outgoing?

It's really quite simple. A wire always have two ends. ALWAYS.

 

A wire tee decides the order of the connections. A dot does not. Heres 3 components connected together. The report generator show 2 physical wires.

AcadE needs to support that a wire/line has more than one wire number. In this example The wires with red and purple arrows have ONE wire number connected to them. The wires marked with yellow arrows need to support two wire numbers.

 

All European ECAD systems support this. They have different ways to display the wire number in the drawing.

i think hes talking about  how T-Pieces work in Europe

On a T- Piece it’s based around European standards and the type of T-Piece means something

In the standard 3 wire t piece as shown below

The left hand side is where the voltage originates from and has the wire number 020L10

It then connects to the top of a device in this case a circuit breaker

 

A wire leaves the circuit breaker and then moves onto the next connected device this wire will be 020L13

 

So on the circuit breaker there will be two wires one numbered 020L10 and another numbered 020L13

 

The 90 degree bend in the T-Piece indicates the incoming wire connection the angle generally indicates where the wire loops off the device and carries on  

 

Hence you end up lots of variants for the various T-Pieces they all indicate how the designer wants the wires to run in the equipment (which a dot does not indicate)

 

But dots are generally used it’s not a hard and fast rule but a mixture of t-pieces with dots  the dots would indicate linking bars/bus bars or

 

combs on devices
