We created our 5094 I/O module wiring using the PLC Database File Editor. I believe AB has files in the Product Catalog for the Ethernet module (5094-AEN2TR) if you need it and want your communication module to show dials and have appearance similar to the real module. The same diagram also can be converted for panel layout. I/O module bases are multiple parts so you need to look up the type of module (Example: 5094-RTB3 is found, but 5094-TB3 won't be listed with a drawing). This drawing won't work for I/O (use PLC Database File Editor instead), but it will work for panel layout.
In the PLC Database editor you will choose new and select characteristics to form it like you want to draw it. You should expect to have to tweak it some depending on your drawing style for spacing etc. Make sure you test character placement for your descriptions and I/O addresses at maximum character count.
thanks for the help, i am self teaching myself but i think (hope) i can do this. learning on the fly🙄
Thanks!!!!
If you have any questions just come back to the board to ask them. There are some people here who know far more than me. There are still a lot of things I don't know on AE but it is easy to do the process in steps where you slowly automate the process more on each design. Below is the locations where you do the configure and insert
I GREATLT appreciate the advice!!!! i just wish they would've sprung fpr the training 3 years ago when we got ACADE. live and learn i guess. THANKS AGAIN!!!!
My employer didn't pay for training either. I initially got overwhelmed with all the differences versus the standard AutoCAD software. I got lucky this year on a job change and now work with other individuals who have more experience than me. This has accelerated my learning process.
You might also search other threads and YouTube. There might be some free exercises / videos that will help accelerate learning for the PLC design process (or other areas of interest to you).
i am the only operator so i have no one to ask questions. i was told you know ACAD so you can learn ACADE , i try to explain the only thing that is the same between the two is the word AUTOCAD and that's it.
I've' done a lot of youtube, the only issue is everyone has different ways of doing the same thing.
all i can do at this point is forge ahead, HA!
True on all of that... Another good thing to learn if you don't already know it is to convert your WBlocks to Symbols. Most of it usually involves adding in the missing attributes and terminal positions. Even if you don't know the PLC Database editor yet, you can still upgrade your custom I/O WBlocks for use with wires to survive in the meantime.
Best of luck to you on the learning process.
That's a great suggestion regarding the WBlocks, it can only help learn.
