Adding a multiple catalog attribute value (user1) to a symbol

Hello ALL,

I am trying to add a multiple catalog attribute value (user1) to a symbol. We use USER1 as an internal part number which we show on the symbol. we have a prox that sometimes uses a straight cable and sometimes a 90° cable. How can I get the USER1 value from the multiple catalog entry into the symbol. I know i can use the textvalue but that would require 2 of the same catalog prox numbers, 1 for each cable, in the catalog and it will not allow 2 of the same part numbers to be saved in the catalog.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Dennis

Ciao

I guess it's a different problem from the one you described where you wanted to insert an internal item code.

So you have a component (prox) that has its own code and you have to associate another code with it (Straight cable or 90 ° cable)
You would like to see both codes via symbol attributes.

If so, I don't understand why you would want to use the USER1 field

Try this:
Create an article for each type of cable and associate in the symbol what you need as a secondary code using the Multiple Catalog function.
Enter the article for example in Sequential Code 1.
Add the CAT01 attribute to the electrical symbol. In this way, in the electrical symbol you can see both the main code and the secondary code.

That's the issue as CAT01 is still needed for the manufacturers part numbers. I need to pull USER1 which is our internal part number. I cannot even get the USER1 to show up on the symbol without using the TEXTVALUE. I can get away with using the TEXTVALUE for the main part number. This is same issue I have for fuses and fuse blocks.

So this is the same problem you described in the previous post.

Sorry. This I don't know how to do.

If you are saying you need multiple internal custom part numbers to show up on a single symbol than you would need a separate symbol for that combination and use assembly codes and textvalues entry instead of multiple part numbers.

Best regards,

Jeff
