ACADE 2025 update/open times

We just updated to 2025 and my projects are taking an extremely long time to open, even my small control panel project takes a couple of minutes to open in project manager with only a few drawings. It is also taking a lot longer to add or update source/destination arrows.

Is anyone having performance issues since after updating to 2025?

Reset ACADE2025 back to default to remove any migrated or after-install added content, then test it as is. Still slow?

This was my second install try, but will try again. I was getting an "i" in the autocad icon in the taskbar when opened, and 1 other time was a yellow warning icon.  So, not sure but will try to uninstall/reinstall again.

I just uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled and it has already been 10 minutes trying to open a project and not even half-way done whereas in 2023 it was very quick.

Is it project specific? If you open one of the demo projects, are they fast to open?

I just tried to open the NFPADEMO and took 25 seconds to open, seems longer than what I thought but maybe not.  I tried to open the software with my original project active in the project manager (that is taking more than 30 minutes to open) and even starting the software with this project freezes up and won't let me start a new drawing for a very long time. I am also trying to open another project that I used to use in 2023 and is moving very slowly as well. Something had to have broke in the background because I tried to reinstall 2023 just to keep working but that is also moving very slowly now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and thought I removed the old files but maybe I'm missing something.

Maybe you should do the reinstall of the MS Access Database Engine as well then.

@jaya_priya_ramasamy

Any suggestions?

I tried that and it didn't work. I uninstalled everything again (vault, inventor, Recap, autocad, etc) and went through the process listed to do a Clean uninstall (https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Clean-uninstall.ht...). That didn't work either.

I created a new project and added all of the drawings for this big project and it is opening and loading quickly again.  It seems as if all of my old project are causing problems, but not that I have a project created in 2025 it is work.  I will say, I have not checked this into vault to test that but at least the software is usable.

Any idea why this might be?

Where are your project files located? Can you move them to a local drive temporarily?

They were all in C:\$WorkingFolder folder since they were vaulted, but were local as far as that is concerned.

Try to copy the files to C:\TEMP\ , and open the project from there....

Just to check if there's something going on with the Vault client doing some checking...

Hi @Thomasbatson ,

Are you able to share the project with us which is having the issue, so that we can analyze?

If yes, please send to my email [email protected].

@rhesusminus Thankyou for pointing me here.

I had copied that folder with the drawings and project files into that temp folder and it is still moving extremely slowly. I created a new project in 2025 I added all of these drawings into that new project and it opens much quicker. It seems like the projects I have opened in 2025 that I have created in 2023 are having this problem.

Hi @Thomasbatson ,

I created a project in ACE2023 and then copied that project to ACE2025 proj folder and opened the project from project manager in ACE2025. It is opening fine. I could not simulate the issue.

Is it possible to send any data set to us to check?

Alternatively, you can reach Autodesk Product Support using the following link.

I had a support ticket just haven't heard anything. I am just not sure what had happened on my computer as a result of this upgrade or how to fix it. I will also say now that I don't believe it is the project because another user here was able to open that project just fine.

What are some ways that I can figure out what on my computer is impacting this?

Thank you
