2 Wire Numbers on same component Terminal

Is there a way to have 2 different wires with different wire numbers land on the same terminal without having the wire numbers change to one or the other?

Basiaclly, I have an Analog - wire, and the shield from the twisted pair, that is to be connected to the - terminal of a current transducer (per the manufacturer's wiring diagram!)  But when I go to make the signal wire a particualr number, and the shield a shield.  AutoCAD throws a fit and labels both wires as Shield (because yeah, 1 terminal, all wires SHOULD be the same number)

Thanks

There is a way to do this but not for terminals that use the wire number...

When inserting terminals, just select the block titled '<SHAPE> with Wire Number Change'.

If you standards use terminals that get their number from the wire number, you will have to use this style of block and choose one of the wire number and manually insert it into the Terminal Number field.

Thankyou for the reply

Now this is only for the Terminal Block type, correct?  My issue is that i have a cable going to an actual device terminal. not a stand alone terminal block.  Is this still possible?

When you say component I take that as a smart symbol?  If yes this can be done by opening the symbol in symbol builder and adding connection points.  I have done this on selector switch/ buttons as I wanted 2 different wire types.  I did verify that it will work for numbering also.  I deleted the new terminal label so the switch or button will still have only one terminal number on each side.

Not sure if this exactly answers your need, but you can connect two separate wires to the same wire connection of a device symbol. The second wire will leave the wire connection at an angle and each wire can have a different size/color layer assignment.

Now, what to do about the wire number?. You have to go to project properties and check the box for wire numbering on a per wire basis.  This means that every wire in the project will be assigned a unique number.  You can edit the wire numbers and change one to shield but leave the other as a number.

Note what Brad said about terminal blocks though.  It can get complicated if you are using terminal blocks that get their ID from the wire number of the attached wires.  You should use the terminal style Brad suggested if you are going to assign wire numbers on a per wire basis.

I have the same problem! I want to connect an earth wire and the screen of a comms cable to a component terminal.

The Screen and the Earth both have different numbers but of course they both adopt the same number when connected. I don't want to change the "per wire" setting in the properties as that will affect every thing else in the drawing. Is there a way of creating a child component that has a single terminal that allows different wire numbers to be connected to it?
