What are the Accelerator Type shortcut keys?

I recently created some keyboard shortcuts using the "Temporary Override Keys". My shortcuts work as I wanted but I want to know what would be the difference if I used "Shortcut Keys" instead. For the "Temporary Override Keys" the type is "Temporary Override". For the "Shortcut Keys" the type is "Accelerator". What is the difference? I can not find anything about the "Accelerator" type in AutoCad Help or online searches.

Thanks for your reply,

I have clicked on the blue links and read everything available related to shortcut keys and found no discussion of "Accelerator" type or even the use of the term. I got the same result in online searches. I have no trouble using the interface and have created the shortcut keys I need. Understanding what "Accelerator" type means makes no difference in my use of the interface but for my own knowledge I wanted to know if there was any significance to the term.

In a related topic, AutoCAD does not seem to support the use of the ALT key unless it is preceded by the CTRL key. This does not work for one handed shortcuts. I used to use the Autohook application, which is no longer available for new AutoCAD releases, to create shortcuts using the ALT key. Since the ALT key is closer, on my keyboard, to the other keys it was much easier for one handed shortcuts. Are you aware of any applications or something in AutoCAD that I missed that would allow the use of the ALT key for shortcuts?

Are you referring the acad.pgp file?  'aliasedit'

Or are you referring to the "function keys"?

In the CUI, Keyboard Shortcuts, Shortcut Keys, under Shortcuts in the right panel, the shortcut type is "Accelerator". I was just curious if there was any significance to the type "Accelerator". I determined my question was like asking why an apple is called an apple. It does not matter, just eat it and move on.

The terms are just labels that delimit sections of the CUI. They were arbitrary comments by the developers IMO
