Overwrite layer info from one file to another

Hi,

I need to fix the layer info (color, lineweight, etc) from a number of files that have more or less the same layer names. I tried the "Layer State Manager" command and save a standard layer state that I would like to simply open in the other files I have to fix, and then my hope is that this overwrite the info of the layers that have the same names. The procedure I have done is: save the standard layer state as .als, then open the file I want to overwrite the layers, open layer state and find the already saved standard layer state, click restore. But the result is that none of the important info (lineweigth, color) have been replaced. Instead, there is a simbol next to the layer name that I can´t figure out what does it means.

Any help will be very appreciated since I am lost here.

Symbol next to the layer name? I don't see a screenshot from you, can you try again?

"overwrite" is not a thing in the program or layer states: but you could try LAYMRG command to merge unwanted layers with layers you wish to keep instead.

Thanks for your reply, but I just figure out what I was doing wrong. I was restoring the layers while in the paper space, instead of the model space. When I restore the standar state layer in the model space, every layer with the same name change his properties, which is what I was looking for.
