Hatch pattern

I copied a glass hatch pattern into my acad.pat file, but I cannot see it. Did I do something wrong? I put it at the end of the list like the file stated, but no luck. I know the hatch pattern worked in previous versions of ADT up to 3.3 before we upgraded.

Make sure you do not have ACAD.PAT in multiple locations -- AutoCAD might be looking at the wrong one....

Glass is transparent. You're looking THROUGH it.

(That's a JOKE, son.)

Have you tried installing it as a Custom pattern?

If the pattern is called GLASS, store the definition in a file called
GLASS.PAT in a directory on the [Tools>Options>Support File Searh Path] for
testing without having to alter your standard predefined pattern file. The
pattern will be accessible as Type "Custom" rather than "Predefined" on the
Hatch dialog.

I put the glass.pat file in the directory with the rest of the custom hatch patterns, but still can't see it. What do I need to do to make it visible? I noticed that all of the ACAD files are blue in windows explorer, but mine is black. Is that significant? I also added the glass hatch to acad.pat and can't see it either. What gives.

Did you do a search on your harddrive to make sure that there are NOT multiple copies of ACAD.PAT?

Likewise, did you put the glass.pat file in the folder that is mapped per your "Search Path" settings?

In the glass.pat file, did you follow the syntax of the other custom PAT files -- 1 syntax error will render the file invisible. Make sure there is a 'Return' at the bottom of the file.

I do have other ACAD.pat files from older ACAD programs, but I dont point to them in 2006. I put it in the correct folder. I believe the syntax is correct. I can't attach it here, but it did work in ADT 3.3 and V14.

Here is the hatch pattern. What is different for 2006 than from 3.3?

Well, I was able to put this into my ACAD.PAT file and get a result. But, it did not work as a 'custom' file.

See JPG -- is this what it SHOULD look like. Please examine closely because I see that the second row of entities do not stack perfectly -- they translate to the side as you move up on the image.

TRY THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

--The syntax you provide is a little off,
--Use my syntax, remeber the extra RETURN at the end
--rename the 'custom' file to Glass1.pat
--edit the name in the file to Glass1

ACAD now sees the custom pattern (Glass1) on my system.

If you do not have the extra RETURN at the end, you will get an error on line 9.

I truly appreciate you help, but dont see what you want me to try, just the one you posted previously. I was able to see the hatch as part of the ACAD.pat and it worked. Be nice in custom, but will take what I can get.

Use this for "Glass1.pat"

Make sure you have the correct 'custom' folder mapped in you Search Paths.
