Exporting/Sharing Custom Tool Palette with Multiple Users

I have created a Tool Palette with custom Components and want to share that with the entire team.

I read that you can export a tool palette and palette group by going to 'Customize' and right clicking on the palette to export, however, when I try, export is not one of the options.

I also tried to create a .atc file and repath that file in Options/Files. That worked to a point. My custom palette did show, however, only the tabs appeared with no tools coming in with it.

Simply put, after creating a tool palette, how do you share this with other users, so I do not have to rebuild each individual palette and deploying.

Thanks!

Reads this if you are talking about the stock AutoCAD TOOLPALETTES feature https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/sharing-tool-palettes-in-autocad-2017/m-p/6841839#M1609...

If you are using AutoCAD Architecture, the Export option for tool palettes will be disabled, as AutoCAD Architecture has additional tools beyond those supported by AutoCAD, and those tools are not compatible with the XTP format.  AutoCAD Architecture provides the Content Browser as a means of sharing tools and palettes.  Read more in the Help:  http://help.autodesk.com/view/ARCHDESK/2020/ENU/?guid=GUID-17B6B359-1DE6-499D-8FE1-C63B2F2FFB93

That look like it work fantastic. I watched your screen cast. Thanks!

Question...When you transfer a tool palette, is that then pathed locally or is it pathed based on the network location selected? If I make an update (re-transfer and overwrite initial file) after the initial transfer will it update the palette on all local machines on the next open?  I noticed there is a file or target in the properties. Is that what the  "Link items when added to work space" accomplishes?

If you link the items, then you can refresh the palette and have any changes brought to the local workspace.

An alternate method is to have the tool catalog in a location accessible to all (network location - which you would want to do anyway), put tool palettes in the catalog, and then include the folder of the tool catalog as a Tool Palettes File Location path on the Files tab of the Options dialog.  Make that location read-only for most users.
