XREF Layers and Projectmanager

Hello all

I have a problem with the XREF-Layers.

I work with the project manager of AutoCAD Architecture 2017.

Now I changed my XREF Layers in the prensentation view of my project. Sometimes I have to rename the construction file and synchronise the whole project. This works perfectly.

But if I synchronise the project, all my changes on the XREF Layers in the prensetation view are gone, and I have to do them again....

Does anyone know how to handle this problem?

Are there some options which are regulating this behaviour?

Thanks for your help.

Two things you may want to check:

Make sure VISRETAIN is set to 1

In the Project Browser project properties check to see if "Match Sheet View Layers to View" set to "Yes" or "No"

I would set this to "No".

VISRETAIN ist set to 1

In the Project Browser project properties "Match Sheet View Layers to View" is set to "No". I also tried "YES" but it doesn't matter for this problem.

I just reread your original post and you mention that you sometimes rename a construction (construct?) file and then synchronise/repath the project.

That means that the xref name in your presentation drawing will change and with it the layers.

Thus the layer setting that you applied to the old xref layers no longer apply.

Nothing much you can do about that as far as I know except avoid renaming constructs.

Hi, thank you for the information.

That's exactly what I thought, but maybe Autodesk I going to find a solution for this problem?!

Best regards..

There is really no problem to fix for Autodesk.

You kinda create the  problem yourself by renaming xrefs.

I understand this, but in my opinion in a modern project navigator it shouold be possible to rename xrefs and synchronise the project again, without loosing the layer definitions.

Greetings

I wonder if this is a VISRETAIN setting problem: can you test and confirm?

Hi

Unfortunately this is not just a VISRETAIN setting problem.

I already tried all settings of VISRETAIN.
