Units and Dimension Text Size Problems in AutoCAD

I have two problems with an AutoCAD file. This file is from an Architect. My AutoCAD is 2022 version. When I dimensioned it, it shows the distance in imperial system. All other previous dimensions are metric. The dimension text size is too small. When I changed the text size to over 100 larger in properties palette, they stays very small and I did not see any changes of the dimension text size. How should I solve these problems? Thank you in advance.

@jianglideng

Are you using the same dimension style that was used for the other dimensions?  Based on the imperial dimension value with alternate units that have the value multiplied by 25.4 even though they are expressed in feet and inches also, I am confident that they are not.  [Unless someone put a lot of overrides on that dimension.]

Your screenshots do not show the Status Bar.  Is the current annotation scale set to the same value as the annotation scale used for the previous dimensions?  Are you showing only annotation for the current annotation scale, or for all annotation scales?

Thank you for your advice. I have to test it when I go back to my office next week.

  • Use units or -dwgunits to determine the drawing units (without changing them).
  • If the drawing has been drawn in inches and dimensioned in architectural format, then 415' should be 4980 inches. This converts to 126492 mm or 12649.2 cm or 126.492 m.
  • So your dimension factors are in error.  The format for alternate units (if the primary units are architectural) should be decimal.  You should also use a suffix to indicate what the alternate units (Inside the [])  are.

I have figured out the solution for the problem. The origin drafter defined a dimension style and selected it. I could not change the setting in any other places unless I redefine/modify this style or define a new style and then select it.
