Two Walls (one on another) - need the Roof and Floor lines set by one Polyline

Hello to everybody!

I need to make two Walls (one on another) with common Roof\Fllor line set by one Polyline.

Initially I thought to make these Walls coinciding (with theirs Roof and Flor lines), bottom Wall with 1000 height and upper Wall on elevation of 1000.

A I have no cuccess. If I get right Roof line on my bottom Wall, I get ERROR on the upper Wall.

I try to move the upper Wall at the elevation = "the maximum elevation of the Polyline's highest vertex" - and no result again...

Can we do that at all?

You are just having cleanup issues. Several solutions and you can choose the best for you.

You can turn the cleanup of the top wall off in the Properties Pallete. OR

you can create a new cleanup group in the Style Manager and set that wall (and other walls?) onto it's own cleanup group.

It also depends on the overall effect you are trying to make happen. It's also possible to do it other ways. If it is an applied finish, add another wall or masselement to the face. It's likely that one material (brick?) actually goes all the way thru and you are applying a finish for affect.

I blogged on an idea I called Sleeper componants and here.

Hi Ntellery!

I think you're right about different Cleanup Group!!

I'll try it and then report!!

About your "sleeper component" - I discovered it a couple of years before these publication... ; ))

I used it for Body Modifiers!..

Dear Ntellery! You are completely right! It was "Cleanup Groups" that I missed!

Thank you VERY much!
